I have had a rather unpleasant cough and cold for the last few days, which finally seems to be improving, so I’ll keep this entry brief.
That being said, thus far our time in India in general and Woodstock in particular has been very enjoyable. The staff are all friendly, and with the exception of the drivers – who are all mad as march hares – the locals have all been kind and courteous.
I am still getting used to the divisions of labour enabled – or perhaps necessitated – by the fact that India is one of the most populous nations in the world, but I am more than happy to let someone else carry my groceries up the half-kilometer vertical distance from town: it’s hard enough hauling myself up the hill two or three times every day.
Further updates are in progress, and will be uploaded as they are completed.
