Intimate me

There really isn’t much to say except “Indian English”.

Used as a verb, “intimate” (‘in.ti.mate) is:

–verb (used with object), -mat·ed, -mat·ing.

1. to indicate or make known indirectly; hint; imply; suggest.

2. Archaic . to make known; announce.

I don’t often see or use “intimate” in the verb sense, as in ‘to notify’. I couldn’t help but chuckle at this one.
